Tights Trends: We have your legs covered #AW15/16
2015 has seen tights in the spot light, the great tight debate raged on Twitter about when it’s socially acceptable to start wearing tights. We heard amongst dedicated fashionistas that the social etiquette for when it is cold enough to wear tights is ‘it’s never too cold’, apparently… For the more sensible among us whenever you feel like it!
What are our thoughts, there is no hard and fast rules. We believe that tights offer a cost effective way to get extra millage out of any outfit. As temperatures dip you don’t need to pack away your miniskirts, if you have a favourite LBD, jazz it up with seamed or embellished tights for parties. Matt black tights and ankle boots have been on trend for some time now. As trends come and go, tights offer a quick and easy way to update any outfit.
Here are our recommendations to be band on trend AW15/16:
#1 Winter Basics:
Grey or black tights can pair with most outfits and carry you through the winter, 80 denier opaque or grey ribbed are hugely popular and perfect for transforming office attire.
#2 1970’s are back!
Bright, bold and bohemian. See the range.
#3 Gothic Glam:
One of our best sellers. The Baroque tights are the latest trend as seen on Dolce & Gabbana. Sophisticated and decadent Baroque tights will add a touch of timeless elegance day or night.
#4 Fun With Tights:
Runways has seen an eclectic mix from designers this year, Naeem Khan displayed floral designs, Proenza Schouler fishnets, Tanya Taylor thick tights, Tommy Hilfiger stripy and colourful.
#5 Sheer Black Tights:
As told by Vogue, and who are we to disagree. Team them with something tough like Doc Martens.
For those of us who love to be warm, for those of us who wouldn’t dream of stepping out with bare legs when it is absolutely freezing, for those of us who love their miniskirts, we will keep them in rotation all year round with our favourite pairs of tights!
